In San Francisco, California – it is said that the Belgian court had dismissed the filed lawsuit of a company against Google Inc.
It was remembered that a company file a complain towards Google Inc. The company stated that Google Inc. feature up a password-cracking tools and serial numbers to unlock of their some software.
Marten Van Laere, CEO of ServersCheck BVBA based in Leuven Belgium were charging Google Inc. of the Google’s Suggest Feature could teach internet users who are in tested in their networks monitoring software to versions that are pirated.
It was remembered that the filing of charges for Google Inc. was last might of the year 2006.in the file raised the company sought Google Inc. To modify its Suggest feature not to offer piracy terms. Inspite of these the company did not ask for financial damages.
In their defense Google said that their Suggest feature shows a menu of drop down popular terms related to keyword that are intended in its search engine. In addition to that Google said the company uses algorithms to give predictions to queries. They said that this feature is still under the process of development, and there will be changes in the suggested terms.
Last march 1; the Commercial Court in Leuven, Belgium saying that Google can’t be found liable dismissed the suit. They said that Google is not liable for the Web pages, which have involvement in illegal activity based on the search terms. In addition to that the court also dismissed the argument which says that Google is offering a mislead advertisement.
Trevor Callaghan, Google’s senior product counsel for Europe that the functions of the Suggest Feature of Google is not intended for misleading advertisements. Callaghan added that there are times that Google does block other words that are offensive from suggestions that are generating. He said that Google hasn’t received any other complaints from other companies.
But inspite of everything Van Laere said that he would file for an appeal. He said that piracy of his company’s software called the ServersCheck has amounted to 100,000 euro a week. They added that they had paid 25,000 euro on legal fees for the file charges. Laere said that until now Google is not yet responding to their request for a sit down talk regarding this matter.
