Greenpeace builds a Noah’s Ark for awareness

According to legend Noah’s Ark ran aground on the Agri Mountain (Mount Ararat) in eastern Turkey as the waters of the Great Flood subsided.

Environment watchdog Greenpeace is building a second vessel as a sign of hope and awareness. The vessel is being built with the intention of warning all world leaders and making them act to counter the approaching global threat of climate change.

According to the story, God observed man’s evil behavior and decided to flood the earth and destroy all life. “Today man is hurting the earth once again,” Greenpeace said in a press release on Monday and urged the world to fight against the seemingly doomed fate of our planet. To that end the organization will be building the second Noah’s Ark. The ship will be used in campaigns to create political awareness on climate change and global warming issues.

“Although we might not be the ones who made the first Great Flood, we will be the ones solely responsible for the disaster waiting ahead of us,” Greenpeace’s statement noted. Greenpeace is an international environmental organization founded in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1971. It is known for its campaigns to stop atmospheric and underground nuclear testing and against whaling.
