Internet search engine Google has purchased YouTube for $1,65 billion.
YouTube, which was established by two young men in a garage, has grown with stunning speed in 19 months into a company showing 100 million videos a day. One of YouTube’s founders Chad Hurley said that they decided to sell YouTube since Google’s resources and engineering genius would help them turn into the funniest online video system.
A total of 72 million people worldwide visited YouTube’s website in August. This figure was 2,8 million a year ago. |
