Preparations are continuing on Eshaitiye Camp, where the Turkish Peace Brigade in Lebanon will be staying. Chinese and Belgian soldiers connected with the United Nations' UNIFIL peace-keeping forces searched the grounds in advance of Turkish troops' arrival, looking for mines or other bombs, but found nothing.
Meanwhiel, local children have asked advance Turkish forces present there to help prepare a football field for games, a request which was reportedly filled by the forces. Turkish troops from land forces who will be joining UNIFIL forces in Lebanon leave today by ship for Eshaitiye Camp. |
