|One of the biggest topics discussed at REITWeek2007, which is an annual investor conference sponsored by the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, was the private equity buyer’s continued lingering around the industry.|
Although there are some prognosticators who speculate that there will be a slowing down in the transaction activity due to removal of some leveraged buyers from the market, some still believe that private equity funds and foreign investors’ supply of liquidity is still ample.
Other topics discussed involved the belief that dynamics of supply-and-demand in most areas of the market tilted towards the outstripping of supply by the demand.
The health of the U.S. economy is believed by the S&P Equity Research to be the key variable for the industry, which is why they will continue to support the group’s share prices as long as there are private equity players that remain active.
