The city of Coral Springs, located in Broward County, Florida, is a very well-planned and truly livable metropolis.
Based on 2005 estimates, the city had a population of 127,654.
The city was initially developed by a private developer called WCI Communities, formerly known as Coral Ridge Properties. During the past decades, the young city quickly grew, and added around 35,000 residents more each decade. The city is unique among other South Florida cities, partly because of its rigid ordinances and codes, which were intended to preserve the city's visual artistic, and natural charms as well.
Considered One Of The Best Communities To Live In
In a previous Money Magazine poll, it ranked Coral Springs as the 27th best city in the United States in which to live, and was also recognized as one of the 100 best communities for kids by America's Promise. The city was also formerly called a "city in the country," however cow pastures and open spaces are now a figment of the past, as this upscale community is already nearing buildout, and would require further expansion.
This expansive city also plays host to the PGA Tour's prestigious Honda Classic, and is also famed for its sophisticated watersports complex and ice skating arenas, parks, shops, malls and other amenities that truly make family living comfortable here. Widely renowned as one of the most well-planned communities in the country, the city has seen a n astonishing transformation. Originally a swampland, the city is now one of the state’s most attractive and best-planned cities, and offers plenty of amenities and facilities for outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and sailing, as well as having a wonderfully extensive parks system.
The Downtown Area Is In The Midst Of A Redevelopment Plan
Coral Spring’s downtown district is now being reshaped by an extensive redevelopment plan, which will cost around US$700 million.
