Having your own website doesn’t mean that everyone on the Web can reach you. If you did not optimize your site for better coverage, then the only way for them to find your page is through your URL. Novice site owners or Webmasters should take time to implement Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to make their site more accessible to the online public, and if it is your first time to start with SEO then here are some tips that will surely help you out.
1. Improve Your Site's Design
The physical attributes of your site should be considered when you are planning to implement Search Engine Optimization on your page. Your popularity will stay dormant if your visitors won't be coming back to your page due to your sloppy layout and crappy design. If you want to have a good traffic along with your accessibility, then it would be best to give your website a new look that your visitors will find appealing.
Come up with a good design that integrates a catchy color scheme and an appealing theme to keep the interest of your visitors. While you're at it, you might want to give it a new layout so that they can easily find the information on your site without having to tear it apart.
2. Keyword Implementation
Search engines utilize keywords to look for information on the Internet. These online services will base their searches according to the keywords typed in by the user and comparing them to sites under their index. When an accurate match is found, then it that site will be placed on search engine result pages.
Implementing keywords on your website is considered to be the basic of SEO. Start by coming up with keywords or phrase variations that reflect your content. Implement them on your page starting from the title down to the actual body of your page. Make sure that you don't compromise the quality of your content by putting them wherever you want without thinking about proper grammar, word usage, and the likes. Don't spam keywords as well.
3. Link Building
Aside from keywords, Search Engine Optimization also utilizes your site's Page Rank to determine its actual ranking on their result pages. A higher PR results to a better placement in search engine result pages -- putting you on the top for the first pick from Web surfers. Your PR value is increase through the number of links you have on the Web. Spread them around and enjoy good traffic that comes with having a high placement in result pages.
