The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmonov visited Turkey on Thursday. Rahmonov met with Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer at 11.00 o'clock (Local Time) in Cankaya Palace in Ankara. After a welcoming ceremony, Sezer and Rahmonov had meeting in Cankaya Palace, after which they signed cooperation agreements.
Turkish President Sezer said, "Turkey is the first country which recognized the independence of Tajikistan. We always make a point of Tajikistan's stability and its prosperity. These relations formed a strong basic principle. We attach importance to the stabilization and prosperity of Tajikistan in Central Asia. "
The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmonov said, "I am very pleased the hospitable and good interests of Turkey. I stress that two countries should improve their historical, economical relations. Tajikistan and Turkey have great potential in terms of economic power."
