"Turkey's accession to the EU is very important and this perspective makes Turkey a door for Arab countries to open on the EU", said, Faysal Abou Zaki, director of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group which held the forum in cooperation with Arab League, in his speech.
Zaki said that relations between Turkey and Arab countries have entered a new stage, adding that both parties are willing to develop relations. He also suggested Turkey and Arab countries establish a regional free trade zone.
Taking the floor at the Turkish-Arab Economy Forum on Thursday, Yousef proposed to establish a Turkish-Arabian Trade Chamber and a Turkish-Arabian Research & Development Center, to develop relations.
Arab League Secretary General's Representative Hicham Yousef said, "Turkey and Arab countries should consider the future of their region".
"Arab world closely follows developments in Turkey", Yousef added.
Syrian Economy and Trade Minister, Dr. Amir Husni Lutfi, stressed the importance of the forum, "I believe that economic relations between Arab countries and Turkey will develop. Turkey will be the door of Arab world for Europe".
UAE Etisalat International Operations Manager, Ubeyd Bin Mishar said that their firm succeeded in the field of communication, adding they are planning to venture into the Turkish market.
