The armed person who got on a Skoda car with Ucaoglu was reported to be en route to central Eskisehir province.
IZMIR (AA) - An armed person hijacked on Monday a passenger bus en route from Izmir to Usak provinces of Aegean Region.
A male passenger on a passenger bus belonging to Anadolu Tourism en route from Izmir to Usak threatened the bus driver with his gun near Kula town and asked him not to stop till Usak province.
As the passengers called the police by their cell phones, gendarme forces wanted to stop the bus near Gure hamlet.
However, the bus crossed the barricade and continued its course.
The armed person said that he wanted to speak to Umit Ucoglu, one of the partners of Anadolu Tourism.
Then, the armed person stopped the bus near Usak Organized Industrial Zone and took hostage Ucoglu.
The armed person who got on a Skoda car with Ucaoglu was reported to be en route to central Eskisehir province.
The armed person left the other passengers in Usak Organized Industrial Zone.
A Skorsky helicopter has been sent to the region.
